WHAT IS A JORNALERO TRIP?

College age students are invited to participate in a week of service in the Dona Ana County, New Mexico. Where they will plan and execute minor repairs for fixed income home residents at no extra charge. Hatch, NM is an underdeveloped community, primarily comprised of field workers who are of Latino/Hispanic descent.  Many of them are elderly or widowed.

Jornalero participants learn how an act of charity brings hope, and leads to a life time of justice. Friday's Immersion Day  starts with Mass at dawn in the chile pepper fields, and continuing  learning about the US/Mexico border issues.
